AgentPost (AI Social Media Agent)

Apr 2026 → Present

TL;DR

A self-initiated product built to fix my own problem: I wasn't showing up where it mattered professionally. AgentPost drafts posts in my voice, holds every one for my approval, then publishes on a schedule across six platforms and a newsletter. Since it started posting in July, my LinkedIn went from near-zero to 6,862 impressions, 71% of them from people outside my network.

Problem

Building a professional presence online takes consistency, but creating content, adapting it for different platforms and keeping up with publishing takes time I rarely have.

I had already experimented with creating and scheduling Instagram content, but engagement wasn't translating into the professional connections I wanted to build. Expanding to more platforms by hand would only add to the workload.

Traditional scheduling tools made publishing easier, but they solve the posting, not the writing. Fully autonomous AI offered a way to reduce that effort, but I wasn't comfortable giving up control over what went out under my name.

Solution

I built an AI agent that takes care of content creation and cross-platform publishing, while keeping me in control of what gets shared - all with less than 30 minutes of hands-on work per week.

One rule shaped everything: nothing posts without approval. AI drafts posts in my voice from a topic, a recap of my week, or a rotating topic calendar, guided by a style guide and weekly research on what's getting reach. Every draft lands in one review queue where I approve, edit or discard it. Approved posts publish automatically every 30 minutes to LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube and my Kit newsletter, and I get an email if anything fails.

Simpler beat cleverer. My first plan relied on Postiz, a third-party posting tool, running on an always-on server. I dropped both for Vercel's built-in scheduled jobs: fewer moving parts, nothing to babysit. I also tried building carousels through Figma Buzz and dropped it as over-engineered.

Carousel Studio. AI writes the slides, a custom Figma plugin I built lays them out on my brand template, and I do the final polish. One carousel then goes everywhere in the right format: all slides to Instagram, a PDF to LinkedIn, and a 4-slide version to X and Threads.

How I worked. AI wrote the code (Claude Code; Next.js, Neon Postgres, Vercel), with Claude writing the posts, Gemini and GPT-image making images, and Veo making video. My job was the product: I wrote a spec for each feature (28 in total), made the calls on what to build and what to cut, and checked the work through 157 test files and real posting. A landing page and waitlist at agentpost.app is there to test whether other people want it.

Key Learnings

  • —Consistency is a system problem, not a willpower problem. I didn't need more discipline, I needed posting to take less effort than not posting.
  • —Automate the grind, keep the judgement. AI is great at drafts and scheduling, but what goes out under my name stays my call.
  • —Cut the clever parts. Postiz and Figma Buzz both looked smart on paper. Dropping them made the product simpler and more reliable.
